Secondary Department - School Day

Classes S1 - S5 - 8.50am - 2:45pm

The Secondary Department is comprised of five classes, S1, S2, S3a, S3b and S4. Pupils transfer to this department from age eleven.

The pupils experience a wide variety of activities and subjects based within Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 of the revised Northern Ireland Curriculum.

There are a number of large, bright classrooms, kitchens and some small areas which can be used for individual or small group teaching. The classrooms are modern and well equipped to meet the individual needs of the pupils.

Class sizes are small and are ideally suited to any child who may have additional learning needs. In addition to our own teaching staff, a number of specially trained professionals are involved in the delivery of arts and crafts, swimming; music technology; Drama etc. A multi-disciplinary team of therapists, medical staff and care staff also provide support.

The secondary department offers:

  • Large, attractive and excellently resourced classrooms.
  • Internet access from all classrooms with modern computer and assistive technology available for pupil�s use; including laptops, Interactive Whiteboards and a range of audio / visual equipment.
  • A large multi-purpose hall and access to the local swimming pool.
  • Expertise and resources to ensure pupils are able to follow a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum.
